The quilts of Rebecca Cynamon-Murphy are meditations worked by her hands as she dedicates daily meditative time to the rhythm made by the hum of sewing machines, the heat of the iron, and the snip of scissors. Like monks making mandalas and holy women keeping bees, she contributes to world peace by making art. The result are quilts made of colorful prints, upcycled clothing, vintage embroidery, and thrifted fabrics. Because of the unique process, the quilts become autobiographical and reflective of the current world that needs both healing and celebration.
